View Full Version : What is this, a reversal?

Not that many years ago George Carlin had a damn funny skit on the words you'd never hear on TV and it was true, then suddenly we started hearing them daily and nowdays it seems second nature. Granted some aren't needed and I feel are used just for the shock value. I'm sure no prude but talking trash isn't always needed. That said, what in the hell is going on recently?
A local radio station that used to push the line to the breaking point is now censoring words in songs like hate, drugs and TV is seemingly doing it here and there.
Okay, so here in Ohio and in the USA we have this morals thing where the nude body should be hidden and women going topless is a no no, but if a silly word gets axed, why are their scenes where it leave nothing, not little but nothing to the imagination that people are doing oral sex and more on the TV? Yes times do change but oral sex is still illegal in some states.

I don't have a clear sense of direction here, just wondering why the trend is reversing now and what your thoughts are on what can be seen and heard by anyone.

What I find interesting is that I have spoken to folks who have lived in Europe, and they say our TV is so tame, we look like prudes. I think this is why TV and movies here in the US have gone nutso.

I feel that if stuff is gonna be shown on TV, do it when the kids are in bed, not when they can easily access it.
