I am a democrat, registered as such since 1975 when I first voted. I believe in the ideals of the word and what it stands for, not the party line.
I am a democrat, and to me that means I think majority should win every time, and all the time and not allowing a single person to represent me and vote and work towards what the want, but what the majority of those they represent want.
I am a democrat, but I’ve never voted party. I have always voted for the person, trusting my knowledge, my heart and my gut feelings.
I am a democrat, but for decades I’ve been sick of the two main parties and what they’ve done to our nation but even more disgusted by what we the people have allowed them to do. We have grown lazy in even doing our right to vote but then fast to sit back and moan and grown on what happens, but I have still looked for something new, something other than the two main parties, something or rather someone that I feel will go in there and shake things up, do the right thing, allow us to once again hold our heads up and be proud.
I am a democrat and I sat here years ago watching as an actor, a republican to boot, ran for the office of the president and feared the worse, feared that we’d become the laughingstock of the world, and I watched and listened and when it came time to vote, my gut told me that this guy was different, had something in his eye that said things are going to be different, but I voted against him and can admit that in my opinion, he has been the most outstanding president of my lifetime.
I am a democrat and I see another actor has now officially stepped into the race for the office of president, but this time I’ve paid more attention to his words and deeds. I’ve watched his eyes not just when he acts but in his other public offices. I see a guy that has waited to see how the public feels and I like that. I see someone that you can just tell if someone screws with us as a nation he might just say openly, bubba, you done screwed up and now we’re going to kick your ass. Someone that can stand up and say, You might not like us, but you will respect us.
I’m a democrat, but this election I’ll be voting for the man which happens to be a republican. Fred Thompson has declared his intent to seek the office for president, and he has my vote.

I know that politics is boring, can stir fights and more, but friends, we need to gain some pride back. We need someone in that office that will do the right things. I think this guy has that. All you have to do is watch him once to see he hates the system as much as most of us. Give him a look and then listen to your gut. I think this guy is a good bet.

I second this notion!!

I was hoping and praying that he would step in, when it began to look as tho Sen John Edwards was lagging big time.

IMO, Sen. Fred Thompson is this country's greatest hope, and he has my vote! :app:

I just finished watching the video on his site. I am a republican. But like you, Kent, I never voted strictly straight party.. I voted for the one that I thought would do the best job.

After looking and watching Fred's video and etc.... I've decided that he has my vote too....and you're right... I could see him saying to some country that messes with us... well now bubba.... *smiles* you just gone and done the wronnnnng thing.http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/321v.gif

Hey Lea, good to see you voice your thoughts too. It's odd in a way for me as I've never been this impressed with someone running for the office before, but dammit we need a good leader and something tells me this guy is it. We've lost respect since Regan and it's time that someone helped get it back. I've agreed to have yard signs placed and should they send them, I can hear my neighbors now since I live in a heavy democrat location but they also know me as the crazy white man so it should be fun :D

thanks Kent,

I totally agree with you. We need a good leader and I have the same impression when it comes to Fred Thompson. I, also, signed up as a Friend of Fred ~ so I'll be lookin for that bumper sticker and sign for the yard... *smiles*

My hubby is a democrat and I've told him he really needs to take a look at Fred Thompson.

Good Evening All,
I am not a Democrat, I am not a Republican, I am what is called a true Libertarian. I registered republican as an 18 year old, because I thought that was what I believed. I have never voted ANY party line. I believe that if you vote your ideals, you have voted correctly, (win or lose).

I do back Fred Thompson. The reason I do is that he understands that WE WERE ATTACKED on 9-11. The problem with John Edwards is he thinks we were at fault on 9-11, same with Hillary. The problem with Gulliani is he thinks we came through it because of him, and the rest of the republicans...I won't EVEN go there.

We need an American as president...someone who realizes that America, (as it was) was NEVER meant to be multi-cultural, I don't mean that we were always white anglos! I mean we came here and left our countries behind!!! No Italian-Americans, or African-Americans, or Irish-Americans, or English-Americans, we became...hold on to your seat... AMERICANS!!!! We joined the Army, and were proud to serve OUR country. I hate to sound this crass, but when I die, I hope they lay me to rest as an American, tried and true, who served his country, who loved his country, and who would have layed down his life, (if situation called for it) for his country!!!

Fred Thompson, is an American, one who knows what we are up against. And is willing to do what we have to, to win!!!
Sam

Wow, good to see our members on board with Kent and I. We were kind of wondering what the reaction was going to be when we "endorsed" Fred Thompson. I'm very glad to see that it's positive - so far

Sam, I could not agree with you more!

If anyone is interested in helping to promote Fred's election, here ya go -

The Fred Store (http://www.thefredstore.com/)

I have to say that I'm impressed with him and his campaign organization even further after having visited the store above. We all know how outrageous the prices usually are for campaign items. Bumper stickers $5, t-shirts $30, etc etc.

Not only is everything made in the USA (which they proudly display on this site), but the prices are very reasonable! Imagine that. What's the rhetoric we're being fed daily about importing from other countries to keep the prices down? Kinda blows that out of the water, now doesn't it

Not only are the prices reasonable but they give nice discounts if you purchase in quantity.

Just one more thing that proves to me once again, even in this small way, that he truly IS a man for the people.
