Seeing how tis the season I'll start my list with christmas. Yea yea, hold the hate mail.

It's all about the almighty buck and that spreads into the churches also. Buy this, spend that, get your kid the latest gadgit or they'll have issues when older, guilt trip out the ass and then comes the churches.
Donate this for that, feed them over there while they starve over here. Give us your 10%, or is it up to 20% now?
I had changed when I was a kid but now, what the hell. Used to a time when family came by and friends stopped over and brought token gifts or food or drink and spent a few hours just catching up. Now, hell we can't do that because we're too busy buying crap for others to ease the guilt from those selling the crap. And even if you do buy the crap and sorry for using crap so much but it is crap, it's not even Made in America crap its overseas crap. So now we have millions of our own that can't afford to buy crap.
Used to be a time when neighbors would act silly but walk around the neighborhoods sining carols, where's that gone?
I'm not religious but still, even that has pretty much gone out the door, so for me, christmas is a wasted effort and nothing more than not just a few weeks but now a few months worth of guilt trips, so I vote we do away with it.

How about a reminder that we want to sleep next to you and wake up with you and laugh with you and try and do right knowing we never will, that's not good enough?

well my comment isn't about the holidays but about the buying crap from overseas... It's been surprising to me how many people are boycotting.... I get quite a few phone calls a day at work - the standard question "Can you tell me where that's made at...." a pause and then "Please don't tell me China".... Now mostly it had been due to the lead but I had a customer call last week and she had a list of stuff she wanted - I had to keep putting here on hold and pulling the items off the demo shelf. Her reason for knowing...... I guess China has been rounding up pregnant Mothers and forcing them to have abortions......*sighs*

I hope what that customer also did was ask or demand that you make your bosses aware that she will only buy truly American made products, 100% American. If we don't stop buying all this crap then we as a nation will have sold our nation off in the name of the almighty buck.
Something Fred Thompson said the other night made me wonder, so I have done just some minimal checking and damn if he doesn't seem to be right. China IS arming themselves it seems and to pay for it in the billions it's taking is made so much easier when we buy most of what we do that's made there. Here we are, one of the largest promoters of human rights and we buy shit made by slave labor, child labor and forced labor and to kick it up a notch they're buying massive amounts or arms and war machines? Let's be honest folks, who the hell do you think they are arming up for?
Did we forget or not even learn what they did in the Korean War? I would almost bet that if the abortion thing is true, that it's female babies being aborted so the ones that live, the males, will grow to be soldiers, but that's not ever stopped them. Do people not know that they forced their own people and some others to march and attack our troops and south korean troops in mass and in front of the real army so once they appeared there would be less ammunition and such to harm them? They used and still use their own people as fodder and slaves, so why are we so willing to give them our money?

So okay, it's christmas and by god we have to give gifts and since its cheep, might as buy the things made somewhere else and who cares about Americans out of work, not able to buy food, with no health care.
Just keep bending over and learn to like anal sex because they, we, sure are taking it right up the ass.

I know this is off topic but in relation to what is being talked about at the moment it relates.

In 1991 I bought my first "brand new" new car and made a choice to buy American. Granted the imported cars were less and some made better. I felt I couldn't bitch about buying American, so I looked around and bought a good old GM chevy. Paid more than I wanted but by damn at least it was American, I thought.
Few months later the fan fell off because a screw had backed itself out, so to the dealer I go and get it put back on but no, they had to special order the bolt it seemed since it took a special type. Okay no problem, got a loaner and called the next day and was told it would be at least 5 days because no one in the USA had this particular bolt in stock, they'd have to get it from the manufacturer. Where is that I asked, and was told it was made in Europe somewhere. I about went nuts. Drove there and asked jsut wtf that had sold me since it clearly was not an American made car to which they said yes it is, it was built in America but a large amount of the parts were made elsewhere. This was supossed to make me happy?
This is what I found out after the fact of my so called American made car. The radio was made in korea, the transmission was a Mazda, the engine was made in most of parts from japan along with a lot more of the parts. So all I did was but a import that was put together here.
Now as much as I'd like to buy another new American Made car, that is just not possible anymore since we've allowed the plants to move out of the USA and we import damn near the rest, so sadly I can't until and if we as a nation stop this and demand only American Made items once again. Until then, next time its the best car for the best price.

This post will be somewhat longer but I think in todays world it needs to be. I'll also say that these are my feelings and not supported or endorsed by anyone else or the site itself and that I say or convey what follows as is my right as an American.

The Martin Luther King Jr. day is a joke, a scam and a slap in the face of all American's of all races. He was a tool of the communist party, a tool of liberal politicians and a means to attempt to calm the radicals of both the black and the white community. IMHO I feel it was little more than a bandaid to get the black race and the so caled liberals to shut up and stop marching, so they, the politicians, needed someone that was black to be note worthy enough to declare a national holiday. Lets say that was true, which I don't feel it is but lets say it was, why not pick George Washington Carver?

If you are going to look for someone, an American, that did truly outstanding deeds, made the USA and the world a better place, invented so much that is taken for granted today, who better to pick? But even then, making a national holiday because of someone's race? And lets not kid ourselves, it sure as hell wasn't because of his deeds and his life as what follows will show and I hope make you think about what a joke it is. Let's look at what we have now vrs this single person holiday.

Is George Washington or Abe Lincoln less important? Must be since they had their separate holidays joined as one and then made to include all presidents, even Nixon and Clinton? And other mistakes to follow? What about Veterans Day? Every damn one of those that fought for America should have a special day but they don't, do they.

But lets be honest, who wants this day set aside now as a national holiday revoked? Actually, there is a movement to do so, but who wants it? Hell, it's another day off with pay, out of school and such so why not? Yea, okay and kiss my ass too.

What follows is from public records, public statements and multiple sites if you care to look.

Every January, the media go into a kind of almost spastic frenzy of adulation for the so-called "Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr." King has even had a national holiday declared in his honor, an honor accorded to no other American, not Washington, not Jefferson, not Lincoln. (Washington and Lincoln no longer have holidays -- they share the generic-sounding "President's Day.") A liberal judge has sealed the FBI files on King until the year 2027. What are they hiding? Let's take a look at this modern-day plastic god.

King was the son of a Black preacher known at the time only as "Daddy King." "Daddy King" named his son Michael. In 1935, "Daddy King" had an inspiration to name himself after the Protestant reformer Martin Luther. He declared to his congregation that henceforth they were to refer to him as "Martin Luther King" and to his son as "Martin Luther King, Jr." None of this name changing was ever legalized in court. "Daddy" King's son's real name is to this day Michael King.

The first public sermon that King ever gave, in 1947 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, was plagiarized from a homily by Protestant clergyman Harry Emerson Fosdick entitled "Life is What You Make It," according to the testimony of King's best friend of that time, Reverend Larry H. Williams. And this practice seems to have never stopped.
The Place of Reason and Experience in Finding God," written at Crozer, pirated passages from the work of theologian Edgar S. Brightman, author of "The Finding of God. "Contemporary Continental Theology," written shortly after he entered Boston University, was largely stolen from a book by Walter Marshall Horton. According to "The Martin Luther King Papers", in King's dissertation "only 49 per cent of sentences in the section on Tillich contain five or more words that were King's own...."!
Supposed scholars, who in reality shared King's vision of a racially mixed and Marxist America, purposely covered up his cheating for decades. The cover-up still continues. From the "New York Times" of October 11, 1991, page 15, we learn that on October 10th of that year, a committee of researchers at Boston University admitted that, "There is no question but that Dr. King plagiarized in the dissertation." However, despite its finding, the committee said that "No thought should be given to the revocation of Dr. King's doctoral degree," an action the panel said "would serve no purpose."

MLK is not a legitimate reverend, he is not a bona fide PhD, and his name isn't really "Martin Luther King, Jr." What's left? Just a sexual degenerate, an America-hating Communist (as reported by numberous sources that are legit), and a criminal betrayer of even the interests of his own people, which in itself goes against his "preaching" does it not? Wasn't and isn't the so called goal of this clown to reach equal status for all, so that itself means his people are all true Americans? Hell no it doesn't and anyone that says different is a bigot imho. His holiday which is bullshit of the purest form, is for those of black heritage and lets not kid ourselves, the non-black people who join in for the media are tolerated, not welcomed, but lets get back to the bullshit of this so called Amercian hero and why this holiday is bullshit.

MLK has strong, and I do mean strong Communist ties. Way to much in print on this so please google or do a search on your own.

King Bought Sex With SCLC Money.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation had for many years been aware of Stanley Levison's Communist activities. It was Levison's close association with King that brought about the initial FBI interest in King.

Lest you be tempted to believe the controlled media's lie about "racists" in the FBI being out to "get" King, you should be aware that the man most responsible for the FBI's probe of King was Assistant Director William C. Sullivan. Sullivan describes himself as a liberal, and says that initially "I was one hundred per cent for King...because I saw him as an effective and badly needed leader for the Black people in their desire for civil rights." The probe of King not only confirmed their suspicions about King's Communist beliefs and associations, but it also revealed King to be a despicable hypocrite, an immoral degenerate, and a worthless charlatan.

According to Assistant Director Sullivan, who had direct access to the surveillance files on King which are denied the American people, King had embezzled or misapplied substantial amounts of money contributed to the "civil rights" movement. King used SCLC funds to pay for liquor, and numerous prostitutes both Black and White, who were brought to his hotel rooms, often two at a time, for drunken sex parties which sometimes lasted for several days. These types of activities were the norm for King's speaking and organizing tours. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spent his last night on Earth having sex with two women at the motel and physically beating and abusing a third.

So let's say the overall stand of ending racism and equal rights deserves a national holiday and lets say someone from the era of the 60's and 70's needed named for it. Why not Robert Kennedy? Why not an American, one that told so many politicians to kiss his ass and one that tried to do the right thing ands was killed for it, why not him?

It comes to having a "black" holiday, so let's kick MLK's ass to the curb where it belongs and name it George Washington Carver day, who by the way, I learned about in school long before the riots of 68. If the race needs a national hero I think he's the one to have.

Anyway, I thought it was a stupid move to dedicate a holiday to MLK, Jr and I still do. We set aside a day to idolize a troublemaker, when our Vets don't get the recognition they so rightly deserve, our 2 greatest presidents lost their day of recognition in lieu of a generic holiday that pays homage to all presidents - many of which do not deserve it.

Well why not? There's so much about this country that's screwed up, why am I not surprised.
