High upon a mountain top at the breaking of the dawn,
far, far away from the hustle and bustle of the maddening world below,
why can man not simply slow the pace, a moment to contemplate,
seek answers to all the worldly woes, look to the one who knows.

We rush along at such a maddening pace, no time for rest,
no matter how hard we strive to get ahead, it never seems to be enough,
seeking ever seeking to fatten our purses, in turn, we shed all in need,
the hungry. the poor, the needy all pushed to the side that we may sate our greed.

When we make the almighty coin the center of our universe, we weaken,
always guarding our treasure against theft, we have no time to live,
if only we could change our thoughts, to think of others to,
could we perhaps perhaps take a moment to reflect, o give to others to.

Let us go back to the mountain top, take time to look within ourselves,
a chance for solitude and peace, a time to silence the day,
a time when we think not of ourselves, a time to give a helping hand,
the need to show others, there is a better way, a time to have our say.

The easing of pain in another's eyes, to see the hurt begin to fade away,
a chance to accomplish that which others say you cannot do.
When we reach out to others, we add strength within ourselves,
a time to look to Heaven above a take a moment to say, " Thank You".
