Peggy, Kent
Here is what I'm seeing when using IE7. I've attached a few screen shots as an example.
Navtive VBulletin places where images are supposed to be are broken... Editor, Forums, Manage attachement window.. site header (front wordpress page too), etc

The editor images - is that here on the forum or at the homepage?
I'm using IE 7 right now to post this, and everything shows up fine for me here on the forum.

I haven't done anything with the editor on the homepage. I thought posting on the homepage was disabled.
Most everything I'm seeing is in Vbulletin with exception to the frontpage where the wordpress header images are missing too.

Ok I took a look at the homepage too.. and the photo slide show thingy you have up there for Ohio Past and Present is missing, also the comment images below the posts, and a few images under site sponsors is missing.

on the homepage? ... LOL it all shows perfectly for me on all 3 browsers.
Could it be something with your settings? I've had 4 people look at both the homepage and forum and look for these broken images, and now the photo show (it's not a slideshow anymore), and the site sponsors images. All there.
You shouldn't be able to see the comments images as we set comments to No on the homepage.

I don't know.. All other sites I go to look fine. TalkVirginia is fine too. So far it's just TalkOhio and the broken images are causing the page layout to skew too.

Can you tell me which theme is being affected on the forum?
You're not being a pain, I appreciate you trying to help.
I'm not seeing anything missing either, so no clue from me
unless a firewall of popup blocker is stopping them

Not a thing - it's not missing any images, lol
The TalkOhio - Fluid theme
sorry hun, but I've had several different people check both themes throughout the day on 3 different browsers, no broken images were found, in any browser.
But just to be sure, I've uploaded and overwritten every single image - there are no missing images. :)

The screenies are very small and I'm having trouble seeing them, but in this one, it looks like your postbit information is to the left of the text editor... am I seeing that right?

Incredible. The text editor isn't supposed to be in your posts, and your profile stuff isn't supposed to be there when you're posting or editing, as we all know.
Jim, I'm at a loss. :duh2:
I really cannot think of anything that could be causing this. Apparently this is happening only to your computer, and only at this site.
amazing...

The funny thing is that everything was working fine until a few days ago when I mentioned the problem. So far it's only TalkOhio that appears to be missing images. I've checked and rechecked my settings.
Question for you... In your Admincp, go to Styles & Templates >> All Style Options for the TalkOhio style >> GO
Scroll down to the IMAGE PATH section and tell me what you have in those fields please.

LOL, I know how to get there, I'm a vB designer :p
Exactly what I'm supposed to have...
images/styles/ohio_main/buttons
same for misc and statusicon.
in the other style, it's images/styles/ohio/buttons, same for misc and statusicon.
all other folders are linked to the main vB images, as always :)

Ok... np.. :) lets try an experiment.. :D ok?
In each of these fields, prefix the values with the full URL so it should read something like:
(this one is a little long so it will have some dots in it.)
http://www.talkohio.net/forum/images/styles/ohio/buttons/
or
http://www.talkohio.net/forum/images/styles/ohio/misc/
etc.
believe it or not... I've had this same strange issue and had to do this on everyone of my sites.
I don't know what causes it.
Peggy

I usually don't do that, unless I'm using an addon such as vba cmps, or a gallery, etc that integrates with vB and uses the same images. It also makes it easier to hot-link images.
However, I'll give it a go. ;)

hmmmmm...
No change... baaaah :( :'(
I'll try uninstalling Zone Alarm and see if that's it but I doubt it since I'm able to see other images on other sites. Oh... I did want to mention that I am able to see those image buttons on the front page where you have the site navigation (forum, signup, arcade, directory and myspace) buttons.
Ok.. I just looked at the properties of those images and it appears any image that points to talkohio I can't see.

This might be drawing straws... but can you check the permissions on the folder?
I just tried to view an image by putting the full url in the browser address box and I got a 403 forbidden error.

I just got to thinking.. I wonder if it's a bug in beta 4? I'm running beta 5 on TalkVirginia
Peggy

I was going to wait for Beta 6 which will probably be out this coming week, but, wth, may as well upgrade.
I'll look at the permissions on the folders while I'm in the server.

Ok I just posted a thread on vbulletin.com to see if we can get some light shed on this.
The thread is called "Broken images on a vb 3.7.0 site" in the vb 3.7 questions & troubleshooting forum.
I don't know much coding, don't get into the tech stuff much, but seems to me if those developing the program would get off their ass and get it done, then all this wouldn't be such an ongoing issue because all I do know is that every time you start messing with the acp anywhere, sooner or later a misplaced click WILL f*ck things up for all and then comes the days of sorting it out and in that time some folks will say screw it and go elsewhere to a site that works, just mho.

ooooook On that note, y'all are gonna shoot me..
I turned my firewall off (ZoneAlarm Internet Security) and I can see images now on here.
I feel like a complete dummy now.. :(
why? At least now you know it was the firewall and not settings on your pc or the database. Firewalls can be a good thing, but then again it can be a royal pita too lol

Yep, now I just need to figure out how to set it to allow images.. :)
There should be a setting area that allows exceptions. I don't use zonealarm so where that is I can tell ya, but good luck with it.
